Pre-hung Replacement Door: A pre-hung door comes with everything needed to install it into your home. You get the door of your choice, the frame, and the hinges. Pre-hung doors cost more because they come with more than the door. But this is the very reason why it is one of the more popular choices. 

If you are getting rid of all the pieces of your door, you need the frame and hinges. All you need is an already prepared doorway, and you have that already. The next step would be picking the door that you want to compliment the room it’s going in. In addition to this, if you choose a pre-hung door, it ensures a proper seal on all 4 sides. This is important if the door is for the exterior of your home. 

Slap Replacement Door: A slap replacement door does not come with any materials to install the door into your home. You only get the door. The hinges and the frame needed are not included. Because of this, slab replacement doors are cheaper to buy. But, consider that you will still need to purchase the frame and hinges separately, which will make you spend more money.  

If you do not need a door frame because you are keeping your old one, this is the best option. Also, if the slap replacement is the same size as the door you removed, this might be a good option. The location of the screws and the size of the door will make it an easy installation.
